I am a Woman, and Therefore, I Change My Mind!
After some cajoling from a friend, I have decided to give the South Beach Diet a try. Why, you might ask?
Here’s why:
- It is nutritionally sound
- It doesn’t involve journaling or calorie counting or points or any other thing I’m sick of
- I have the built in support system of my husband doing it with me!!!!!
- It could potentially address the issues I have with cravings
So, we’re giving it a shot.
Here’s what consumed on day one.
Breakfast: zucchini, mushroom, onion and parmesan frittata
Snacks: Edamame, low fat cheese and walnuts
Lunch: chicken breast marinated in buffalo wing sauce and grilled over romaine, celery, cucumbers and tomatoes with bleu cheese dressing
Dinner: sausage, spinach and parmesan stuffed grilled portabellos
Not bad for dieting, right?

THAT LOOKS SO GOOD. I think I’ll eat that tomorrow and join you on your diet! Seriously, yum!!
Good for you!!! I haven’t done the full research on the SBD, but from what I’ve heard, it sounds nutritionally balanced and easy to follow. I think it’s similar to the Flat Belly Diet and the Healthy for Life program which all stem from Mediterranean influence – lean proteins, healthy fats (MUFAs), lots of fiber, and good carbs in moderation. Your menu sounds super yummy and I’m so proud of you for making this huge step
Keep blogging about your recipes and progress!
You can do it!!! Am I that cajoling friend???
