It’s been 5 days since Matt and I started the South Beach Diet and the scale reports a 8.4 lb loss. Not too shabby.
Don’t get all freaked out. I know, I know. To the average person, that seems incredible. But, when you’re a dieting veteran, it isn’t all that exciting. I lost 13 pounds in 7 days on my last diet so, I won’t surpass that. And, I know that any loss that large is usually due to fluid loss.
Don’t get me wrong; I’m happy that I’ve lost it and am well on my way. I even managed to find some time to get some exercise in.
Deep water aerobics (AKA: treading water for an hour) has been a boon to my shoulder confidence level. I am able to move the affected arm all over the place in the water and it gave me a huge glimmer of hope that swimming again truly is in my future.
