A New Week!
Deuteronomy 6:5-9
5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
What a powerful set of verses! As moms, we are to impress upon our children our love for God at all times! All times.
This is a pretty big responsibility, isn’t it? But, if we continually pray that God would help us keep our eyes, minds, hands and hearts fixed on Him and allow Him to guide us each day, that task gets easier and easier.
I am coming to the realization more and more each day that I cannot accomplish this on my own. I am not in control. The more I try to CONTROL everything, the less joy I have and the worse my relationships become. However, when I rest in His perfect timing and His plan for my life, everything falls into place and joy is abundant.
So, as I go about my new week, I am keeping these verses close to my heart and am praying that God will show me His perfect will in everything I do. Even that monsterous pile of laundry that is awaiting me.
My plan for today is:
- make Christian breakfast
- make Christian a special lunch
- make Matt a special breakfast
- make bed
- clean kitchen
- prepare package for mailing
- go to post office
- tackle 3-4 loads of laundry
- start researching some Christmas gifts
Dinner is planned and we’re having stuffed shells and some mixed veggies tonight. Err, Hamburger Helper. Should be tasty!
